Freshmen standouts Tom Hoban and Alec Holland will be racing the best freshmen in the East this coming Saturday, November 24th. Their race starts at 9:45am!!! The caravan will be leaving from Paul VI HS at 6:15am! I know that’s early but we’ll back with plenty of time left in the day for people to take naps…

Let Coach know if you’re interested in going and would like to volunteer to drive. You can find all sorts of information on the Foot Locker Championships here. As you can see the difference between the 2.5 mile course and the 5k course is merely the addition of an extra .6 of flats. If you have any other questions – contact Coach.

Everyone have a great Turkey Day! ALSO – for those who missed it – Oregon took their first NCAA XC title since 1977 with Galen Rupp finishing second, while the women’s championships was won by Stanford. Some East Coasters that did real well – Villanova’s Bobby Curtis finished 4th with a 10k time of 29:46. Iona and NJ’s Mohamed Khadraoui finished 25th - grabbing All-American honors while helping the NY-based college to 2nd place overall. Georgetown and Pope John XXIII’s Justin Scheid finished 86th. A full recap of the race – which apparently was one for the ages between Galen Rupp, Lopez Lomong, and the eventual winner Josh MacDougal. Take a look at it. Josh’s splits? A “pedestrian” 15:09 first 5k which eventually sped up to a 14:13 last 5k. Pretty amazing. Women’s race was just as exciting.

The Kings Run – All the Info

Registration starts at 7:30am – let’s meet at that time in front of the Christ the King school on Hopkins & Wood Lane in Haddonfield. Then those who need to register can jog back to the gym and get registered. We’ll then head out for a warm-up.

Come and if interested or even remotely interested in learning about the cross country program come find us in the Media Center (where all the athletic teams are situated).

Coach Bonnette and several PVI runners will be there to answer any questions about the high school, cross country, and social life at PVI for you. Please don’t be shy!
